Job Description
Effectively educating and informing consumers about the basics of money management, the wise use of credit, and the importance of saving.
Credit-Wise Cats aim to teach personal financial management in order to facilitate financial security and independence for members of society.
The mission of the Credit-Wise Cats is to train and support a group of student “financial education” ambassadors who conduct workshops and seminars on campus and in the greater Tucson community.
CWC are trained in the area of personal finance, offer workshops, educational forums and assistance to those persons or groups who wish to gain an understanding of personal financial management.
To execute the Credit-Wise Cats’ mission, the following job functions are required. The organization is seeking applicants who are skilled or willing to be trained in the following essential functions.
Essential Functions for Credit-Wise Cats:
- Perform multiple educational workshops for people and organizations at The University of Arizona and in the Tucson community
- Mentor new “Credit-Wise” education programs at other schools
- Take ownership for personal and professional development by successfully completing training, performing ongoing training exercises, and seeking resources and consistently communicating with professional staff
- Complete research projects and demonstrate follow through on revisions according to standards
- Help execute projects other special projects as required
- Develop and maintain brochures, posters and other CWC advertising material
- Create and distribute press releases and advertisements in a timely manner
- Is an active member of Students in Free Enterprise and is highly encouraged to attend weekly meetings
- Files all required reports on time
- Communicates all activities to the team
- Performs other functions that will enhance the Credit-Wise Cats organization
Qualifications:
- Keen interest in the area of personal finance
- Knowledge of publishing and/or web development software.
- Knowledge of basic math and/or accounting skills.
- Public speaking and interpersonal skills
- Organizational skills
- Excellent writing skills
- Ability to travel outside the university campus
- Enrolled at the University of Arizona.
- Successful completion of in-house training program.
