Jr. Duel in the Desert

On March 31, 2007 the “Junior Duel in the Desert” Middle School and High School Personal Finance Case Study Competition was held on The University of Arizona campus. This competition revolves around the analysis of a personal finance case study, in which the participants had a three-week time period to develop a solution for the case using the skills they have learned through their personal finance class. A presentation team and an audio-visual team were selected by each school to present their solution to a panel of judges in this competition. The winners are listed below:

High School Level, 2007

First Place $500 and Trophy - Sunnyside High School

Second Place $300 and Trophy - Alice Vail Middle School

Third Place $200 and Trophy - Sahuarita High School

Fourth Place $100 and Participation Trophy - Toltecalli Academy

Middle School Level, 2007

First Place $500 and Trophy - Saints Peter & Paul Middle School

Second Place $300 and Trophy - Wakefield Middle School

Third Place $200 and Trophy - Wildcat Middle School

Fourth Place $100 and Participation Trophy - Roskruge Middle School
